Letter No. 91 - Field Notes: Capturing the Essence of June
From evenings at the Opera to refreshing swims — June through my lens.
Dear Reader,
As we slip from June into July, I find myself savouring the in-between, the soft pause between seasons, routines, and rhythms.
For letter no. 91, I’ve put together a photo diary with glimpses from the past month. June brought ballet performances, refreshing swims, and a few beautiful highlights I wanted to share.
Looking ahead, I’ll be taking a short break from the free newsletters in July. The letters for paid subscribers will still arrive twice, in a shorter, more relaxed format, hopefully just the thing for long, warm days.
Wishing you a beautiful summer, wherever it finds you.
Love,
Carolina
Please note: this newsletter is long, and packed with inspiration, so if your email platform tries to trim it down, make sure to open it in your browser to savour every detail.
Field Notes: Glimpses of June
Technically, this moment belongs to May 31st, but it was far too good not to share. The Arts & Tea members club gathered for a private, behind-the-scenes tour of iconic theatre Dramaten, and it did not disappoint.
Quite possibly my first and only time standing on the stage at Dramaten.
Wandering through the labyrinth of the wardrobe department...
Exquisite details everywhere you look
I swear we didn’t color coordinate our outfits.
The evening ended with wonderful food and lively conversation at Prinsen.

Back at the gallery, I packed orders and hung new artworks, the space glowing in golden summer light.
A highlight: dear reader Lisa tracked down the elusive By Malene Birger cape that had once slipped through my fingers, and it arrived just in time for an evening at the Opera.
Julia and I began with dinner at Operabaren.
She gave me a beautifully thoughtful gift, and in true “impossible to shop for” fashion, I already had it. Still, she absolutely nailed it, it’s one of my favourites!
We ended the night with a breathtaking performance of Romeo & Juliet at the Royal Opera. Truly one of the best I’ve ever seen!
Stockholm in summer is truly magic.
Dress, By Malene Birger. Bag, Toteme. Sandals, A. Emery.
Took the first dip of the season, refreshing, to put it mildly.
Hat, Galerie Storm. Sunglasses, House of Dagmar. Towel, Toteme.
Favourite swimsuit from Arket.
Movie night chez Mrs Hichens.
Had a beautiful morning at the Byredo store on Mästersamuelsgatan, where we spoke about scent in all its dimensions.
I left with the perfect fragrance for summer evenings, Casablanca Lily, from the Night Veils collection. Warm, mysterious, and quietly elegant.
Ending this little photo diary with the arrival of a stunning Chinese screen at the gallery. This is one of those pieces that will be especially difficult to part with.
On My Mind

WALK. A. Emery’s Jalen sandals are truly among the most comfortable I’ve ever worn. I already have them in black leather, but the walnut brown suede version is calling my name.
GALERIE STORM. We have a few beautiful new arrivals at the gallery this week, like this gorgeous 1930s bronze vase for example.
WEAR. A pair of effortlessly elegant satin pants I definitely wouldn’t say no to!
SWIM. Arket just launched a dark brown version of my favourite swimsuit, tempting…
